Set your sights on long-range views with visits to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee (17-minute drive) and Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA, (23-minute drive). Spend the day on Lake Chatuge with a boat or personal watercraft rental from a local marina or launch your own from nearby public access.
Want to immerse yourself in nature in the Nantahala National Forest? Bring your mountain bikes and ride the first-class trails at Jackrabbit Mountain (also great for hiking and dog-friendly) less than 15 minutes from the property. Fires Creek Recreation Area (26-minute drive) is another Western NC local favorite for hiking with picturesque views, swimming, and trout fishing. On the GA side, take a 28-minute drive to a waterfall hike via the High Shoals Falls Trail or make the 37-minute drive to Alpine Helen, GA for a taste of Bavaria in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hungry and thirsty after a day of exploration? Visit the outstanding local restaurants, wineries, and breweries in and around downtown Hayesville and Hiawassee for not-to-be-missed tastes of local flavor.

The trash can beside the gazebo does not belong to the bungalow — the correct can is located at the bottom of the deck stairs.
There is absolutely no smoking on the property.
