This is probably our 8th time staying at the Lake Chatuge Bungalow and have a great time every time we come. This trip was no different and look forward to the next adventure. Ate for the first time at the Lakeside Tavern which is right next door and that was one of the best meals i have ever had. Definitely worth the visit.

The Bungalow was once again a huge success. This is probably the 8th time we have stayed here. Watching the storms from the deck was great. One thing I would add, you probably need to check the cabinets on the right side. It looks like it has separated from the wall. Will be back in October!

Open-concept bungalow featuring a private king master bedroom and a comfortable living area with a pull-out queen sofa bed. The home includes one spacious shared bathroom with a tub and shower combination. Enjoy easy one-level living inside, plus a beautiful heated sunroom with adjustable windows to let in the fresh mountain air. Outside, stairs lead down to the fire pit and charcoal grill area. Street parking is available for up to two cars, with stairs leading from the parking area down to the front door.

A comfortable, convenient spot to unwind near the lake while staying close to local favorites.

Located directly across from Lake Chatuge Ridges Marina, Lakeview Tavern and the Sand Bar & Grill, you’ll be within walking distance of local restaurants, bars, and live music venues. Spend evenings by the fire pit, grill out on the charcoal grill, or explore nearby hiking trails, waterfalls, and lake activities — all detailed in the in-home Welcome Guide.

Adventure awaits! Western NC and North GA abound with opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Set your sights on long-range views with visits to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee (17-minute drive) and Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA, (23-minute drive). Spend the day on Lake Chatuge with a boat or personal watercraft rental from a local marina or launch your own from nearby public access.

Want to immerse yourself in nature in the Nantahala National Forest? Bring your mountain bikes and ride the first-class trails at Jackrabbit Mountain (also great for hiking and dog-friendly) less than 15 minutes from the property. Fires Creek Recreation Area (26-minute drive) is another Western NC local favorite for hiking with picturesque views, swimming, and trout fishing. On the GA side, take a 28-minute drive to a waterfall hike via the High Shoals Falls Trail or make the 37-minute drive to Alpine Helen, GA for a taste of Bavaria in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hungry and thirsty after a day of exploration? Visit the outstanding local restaurants, wineries, and breweries in and around downtown Hayesville and Hiawassee for not-to-be-missed tastes of local flavor.

Please note: This home is not waterfront; a 4-lane highway sits between the bungalow and Lake Chatuge.
The trash can beside the gazebo does not belong to the bungalow — the correct can is located at the bottom of the deck stairs.

There is absolutely no smoking on the property.
