An Absolutely Beautiful Location

Recently stayed at Lake Haven on Chatuge with my family for three nights and I cannot say enough! The only downside is that we should have stayed longer. What a stunning property. Being surrounded by the lake and mountains was so relaxing. Sunset every evening was beautiful. Everyone always had something to do, whether it was beach volleyball, kayaking or paddling boarding. The big kitchen accommodated my 16 family members perfectly and was great to cook and create a buffet line in. We loved the going up to Bell’s Overlook, where we could look down on the property and overlook the entire lake. We hope to come back for a family reunion! Thank you!

Unique House and Amazing Location

Our group of friends really enjoyed the stay at this unique home with an indoor pool. Plenty of room for everyone with many places to congregate. Amazing views of the lake and mountains from this peninsula lot. We visited in January so didn’t use the lake, but this house would be incredible during the summer months. My contact Chatuge Home was very friendly and responsive. Definitely would recommend.

We rent this home almost every year for my company Christmas party. It is absolutely our favorite favorite place to go… It has everything that we could possibly need between the Jacuzzi the swimming pool more than enough bedrooms with very nice beds in them.

Perfect Spot for Us!

We rented the house to bring our children and grandchildren together for our 50th Wedding Anniversary, and we could not have found a better spot. Good weather? We'd go outside and on the lake. Bad weather? We'd stay inside and in the pool, watching movies, playing games. In short - lots to do in an open, gorgeously scenic environment. We are looking forward to returning!

Hiawassee Town Square - 3.1 miles, Ingles Market - 3.1 miles, Chatuge Regional Hospital -3.3 miles,
Ga. Mountain Fairgrounds - 3.8 miles, Helen, Ga.23.7 miles

There are many more outdoor activities to partake in all over the area, from hiking at Bell Mountain to golfing at Chatuge Shores Golf Course. If you're willing to venture further, take a scenic drive to Brasstown Bald, the highest peak in Georgia!

Closer to town is the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds that hosts the Georgia Mountain Fair in the summer and a complete series of live music events 3 seasons a year. Be sure to stop by Main Street to peruse the charming shops, quaint antique stores, and tasty restaurants.

We love the #lakelife around here as well as the majestic mountains. So much to do and see right in town. We have a handy guidebook in the house full of dining options, things to do, shopping, hiking and waterfall trails... An abundance of wineries with live music events and tastings are everywhere! And a short 25 min drive to the Bavarian themed town of Helen for tubing, zip lining and the sights and sounds of Bavaria. Great photo opportunities!

There are several excellent boat rental places in the area! We use Lake Chatuge Marine, Young Harris Water Sports, Boundary Waters... The fellas will help you out! All kinds of water toys too like jet skis, standup paddle boards, kayaks.

Hike or drive to the apex of Bell Mountain, which overlooks the lake below and provides picturesque mountain views. Visit Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. Trailheads of the Appalachian Trail, which spans from Georgia to Maine, are less than 10 miles from this home.

Adventure awaits! Western NC and North GA abound with opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Set your sights on long-range views with visits to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee (20-minute drive) and Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA, 35-minute drive). Spend the day on Lake Chatuge with a boat or personal watercraft rental from a local marina or launch your own from nearby public access. Want to immerse yourself in nature in the Nantahala National Forest? Bring your mountain bikes and ride the first-class trails at Jackrabbit Mountain (also great for hiking and dog-friendly) less than 5 minutes from the property. Fires Creek Recreation Area (25-minute drive) is another Western NC local favorite for hiking with picturesque views, swimming, and trout fishing. On the GA side, take a 30-minute drive to a waterfall hike via the High Shoals Falls Trail or make the 45-minute drive to Alpine Helen, GA for a taste of Bavaria in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hungry and thirsty after a day of exploration? Visit the outstanding local restaurants, wineries, and breweries in and around downtown Hayesville and Hiawassee for not-to-be-missed tastes of local flavor.

Dogs welcome! $200 each. 2 max.

During the winter months, the water levels will be much lower, as the lake is drained somewhat during off season. Water level is too low for boats to park at dock from mid-Sept- mid-May. Kayaks and sups are great year round.

There is gas grill, propane provided, outside fireplace, drip coffee maker. To be on the safe side, please bring your own coffee essentials and firewood.

The sauna- Turn the ON button slightly... it only gets hot with one setting. Then pour water over the rocks to make steam. It has an auto-shutoff feature. No need sensor hanging on the side , it is there to regulate the sauna temperature.
There is a large heated pool. Temperature is set on 84* so while it’s definitely warm it won’t be “hot tub” warm. Enjoy!
