Historic Hayesville Inc.
Historic Hayesville is a great place to visit! The museum is a renovated former town newspaper office. There are four main rooms open to visitors, plus a hallway filled with memorabilia. The entire museum is overflowing with neat stuff to see. One room is dedicated entirely to telling the stories of local veterans. The old newsroom is filled with a beautiful collection of local quilts. A woman named Sandy Zimmerman was working the day I visited. She’s very friendly and extremely knowledgable about the town and its history. To raise money, the museum sells custom barn quilt squares that you can place on your home or business. These are painted in multiple sizes, depending on what you desire. If you ask, you might even get a tour of their painting studio!

Reece Farm & Heritage Center
Nice little stop along the highway to commemorate Byron Reece, the poet/farmer. There is a film which educates one in regards to his early life and start of his career. There are stone markers with some of his poetry. I really enjoyed the small creek and feeding the donkey and goat.

Mountain Life Museum
Small but very nice museum consisting of a restored house from the very early 1900s, a log cabin built in 1861, a barn and blacksmith shop. The blacksmith shop has not been redone yet but the other buildings are open for touring and contain all sorts of historical artifacts. Not at all far from the Blairsville courthouse and takes about 45 minutes to take in. Well worth the stop.
